He added that the Government takes a very serious view of such acts and behaviour that affect the ability of citizens to earn a living in a dignified and respectable manner.

According to Young, employers and employees must be made aware of their contribution to the organisation and must be told of their responsibilities and rights for redressal of any complaints. Young informed that the guide has the backing of bodies like the HSE, ACAS (Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service) and the BIS (the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills).

Young expressed happiness at the fact that the Government and other voluntary bodies have had the opportunity to work with employers and employees to arrive at the provisions presented in the guide. This is an important step in resolving issues, he said.
