Michael Mizrachi, also known as The Grinder, outlasted a field of 115 participants in the Event #2, the $50,000 Poker Player’s Championship, and won his first WSOP bracelet along with about $1.6 million in prize money. He was also awarded the Chip Reese memorial trophy. Other recent poker online winners of that event include Chip Reese, Freddy Deeb, Scotty Nguyen and David Bach. The tournament lasted five days and runner-up Vladimir Schmelev won $963,375. Ironically, the two heads-up poker players from that event also made it to the final table of Event #10, the $10,000 Seven-Card Stud Championship. The Grinder bested Schmelev who went out in seventh place ahead of Mizarchi, who finished in sixth. The winner was Men “The Master” Nguyen, making it two bracelets in this year’s WSOP so far, with a career total of seven. He finished ahead of field of 150 tough contenders and took home $394,800 for his efforts. The UK made a good showing this year when James “Flushy” Dempsey won his second bracelet by outlasting 650 players in Event #9, $1,500 Pot Limit Hold ‘Em and winning $197,470.

As anybody knows, poker online games are about position. The value of your hands and your options with those hands vary as your position in relation to the dealer and the players around you varies. A hand that’s unplayable from one position can be a winner from another. Here’s a quick look at the advantages and disadvantage of being the early position at a poker online table.

You’re at a bit of a disadvantage, unless you’ve got a monster hand. You don’t have any idea what your opponents are going to do, so any move you’ll make, you’ll be making blind. If you don’t have the cards to work with, it’s a good idea to fold the hand. If, on the other hand, you’ve got something that you can work with, like pocket faces or Ace-King suited, then you’re in a pretty good spot to trap your opponents.

A few checks and understated calls from an early position can allow you to stay under the radar when you have a strong hand. If you act meek in the early position, your opponents in the later position will likely bee jockeying to buy up the pot, and you can usually simply call their raises until they’re pot-commited, at which point you can shut the trap by pushing them all in. Try it at your next poker online game.

Their eyes practically pop out of their sockets, they start to drool, and I am pretty sure that they are thinking about a very different kind of pair than the one they have in their hands. I love it when this happens. I love when the men get distracted because I know that they are not thinking about the cards when they are thinking about the cocktail waitress. When they get distracted, I have a better chance of winning. If you want to be a good poker online player, you need to keep your eyes on your cards. Don’t let them roam to the pretty cocktail waitress or the attractive lady sitting next to you. These are visual traps designed to pull your attention away from the game. Don’t let them get the better of you. Keep your eyes on your cards if you want to win and focus all of your energy on making the best possible combinations. Do this enough times, and you will be able to enjoy the cocktail waitress like I do: not as eye candy but as a beautiful distraction for the other poker online players.

As a table mate of mine once said, “If you can drink a beer while doing it, and still do it well, it’s not a sport.” I tend to agree with that. Though poker surely requires necessary skill sets in competition, the anti-physical nature of it, paired with the element of chance being higher than in other events, make the concept of poker as an Olympic event pretty much a joke. If poker were to become an Olympic event, that opens the door for so much more. What about chess? Checkers? What about Monopoly or Risk? All of these games require some strategy (some more than others) and some luck. If poker gets let in, arguably they all do. And so we stick with the idea that physical prowess and extreme focus in skill is a criterion to event making. And maybe it’s better off that way. I personally like thinking of poker in a wholly different realm of competition, where brains and money pair up to create a new kind of event.

This year’s Aussie Millions poker tournament, which began in late January, was won once again by an Australian, Tyron Kost, from Sydney. Last year’s Aussie Millions was won by Australian native son Stewart Scott.

Krost emerged as the last player standing from a field of 746 players. The buy-in was AUD $10,000 with a top prize of $2,000,000. The second place winner, Frederik Jensen, won $1,200,000. The final table chip stack leader, Sorel Mizzi finished in third place for a prize of $715,000.

Norwegian player Annette Obrestad, who has been making waves in the online poker world for the past year, finished in seventh place, taking home $175,000. Obrestad will be eligible to play in this year’s WSOP Main Event in Las Vegas now that she is 21, and the online poker world will be watching to see how far she makes in that contest which has been drawing more than 6,5000 players in recent years.

The Aussie Millions also set a higher bar for tournament earnings. Daniel Negreanu had held the record for most money won in poker tournaments, but Phil Ivey pushed past him. He finished second to Dan Shak in the $100,000 “High Rollers” event. As runner-up, Ivey won $600,000 and set a new record for lifetime poker tournament earnings.

Casino games like poker and making bets on pro sporting events such as baseball have been popular for a considerable time. Now, their web based versions are springing up all over! This is not really surprising, given how available they are and how thrilling they are to join in with. There aren't many folks who would sacrifice the opportunity of acquiring significant amounts of bonus money. To begin with, you should decide whether to place a wager on professional sporting events like NHL fixtures or play casino games such as roulette.

The web versions of casinos and bookmakers may not have been here long-term, but nevertheless they’re spreading quickly and popping up across the web. They’re so much fun and easy to take part in and to be truthful – who would say no to the probability of some additional money? The largest decision confronting those new to online gambling is that of either playing casino games or putting bets on sporting events. Straight from the very beginning, it is important to learn how both of the two choices work. Often, you’ll realize that if you study the games, your chances of success will increase. You can back this up by considering any bonus hints and tips you encounter. Even so, the knowledge you may need can be hugely variable.

You can start playing before very long – all you require is knowledge about the principles and the system of the games. Online sports betting can be more complex, as you will find yourself having to familiarize yourself with the betting systems as well as the conventions of your preferred league. Stuff that could help can include current information on the game, the teams involved and their stars. You might opt to just choose at random who you suspect will lose or win – but these little pieces of information could offer you an additional insight and boost the prospects of you really going for the most lucrative possilibity. Any of these wagering choices involve elements of risk and luck. Games such as roulette and slots, for instance, are decided almost completely at random. Whilst with blackjack or poker, the punter’s level of talent could influence the result.

If making bets on professional team sports, such as hockey, information about the weaknesses and strengths of the teams as well as form could improve your chances of gambling correctly and obtaining more money. It’s not infallible though. Occasionally the underdogs do scrape through to victory and shock the usual system. Do bear in mind though, there is still that element of risk. Placing bets online permits you to test out tons of contrasting games as you try to win more prizes. Pick out your favorite game prior to making your wagers. After which, just settle back and enjoy the thrill of watching it all pan out.

The net variations of casinos and betting shops haven’t been about long-term, even so they’re spreading quickly and bouncing up across the net. They’re so much fun and easy to take part in and let’s be honest – who would say no to the opportunity of a little more cash? The largest choice facing those new to wagering through the net is that between playing casino games or making wagers on professional sports events. From the off, it’s important to understand how each of the two choices operate. Frequently, you’ll find that if you learn things about the games, your likelihood of bringing home more money will increase. You can further increase your chances by remembering any extra hints and tips you encounter. With that said, the information you ought to become familiar with can be vastly wide-ranging.

You could be betting before you know it – all you want is info about the principles and the outline of the games. Wagering on sporting events on the net is more complex, as you’ll be required to get to know the betting systems as well as the rules of the contrasting sporting events.

Stuff that could help can include current info on the game, the teams involved and their stars. You might opt to just guess who will win or lose – but these little pieces of info might provide you with added insight and decidedly increase the prospect of your actually determining the optimal possilibity.

Chance and risk make up a key part of both kinds of games, however the level is variable within differing ones. As regards slot machines and games like roulette, such as those normally available in online casinos, the results are wholly dependent on luck. However – with sufficient practice, you might be able to steer the odds in your favor for blackjack etc. Improve your abilities sufficiently and you can enhance your chances of winning.

When you’re placing bets on team sports, for example basketball, knowledge about the weaknesses and strengths of the different players as well as previous scores will positively affect your chances of gambling on the sensible option and gaining more money. It’s not guaranteed however! On occasion the underdogs do triumph and rattle expectations. Do bear in mind, there always exists that element of chance. Making bets via the net gives you the chance to try out a lot of different games in your bid to win more prizes. Pick out the game you truly desire prior to chancing your cash. Once you’ve made your choices, you can just relax and await the results!

The biggest draw of playing poker in a brick and mortar casino is the casino comps. It is basically free money that a frequent player can earn by using their player account whenever they plug into their machine. Many of the players who hold casino accounts are video poker players, who use the game to earn points to their account. These accounts can then be exchanged for free perks from the casino, like complimentary rooms at the hotel, or discounts at the food court.

In theory, the amount of points you earn on your player account is linked to the amount of money you spend at the table. However, this does not hold true for video poker. Video poker has a lower house edge than other casino games, so the casino will seek those few points out to you very slowly. The video poker players who get the good comps are either really good players who funnel a lot of money into the casino, or really bad players who don’t take anything out. The average player is left out in the cod.

If you are a decidedly average online poker player, you need to wrap your head around the idea that you will not get a high amount of casino comps. Console yourself with the idea that you can walk away with money from the pot, which is way better than a discount on the buffet anyway. Remember this when you play poker online.
