Keeping an open mind with regard to other people’s opinions is an important skill in effective people management. Being approachable and receptive establishes that you want to hear your co-worker’s views, and they should value yours. Honest discourse in addition boosts creative problem solving, innovative ways of fulfilling the goals of the company, and develops the team. By giving the employees some input, each member takes an interest in the outcome.

Promote communication: Dealing with employees boils down to the same thing — good communication.
